Help Someone Else Find a Lost Item
When I misplace something, 80% of the time it's because I simply don't take the time to remember where I put the item in the first place. To this end:
-
Have a 'home' for everything important item you own: your wallet, keys, cell phone, etc. Avoid letting the item leave your physical possession unless it's dropped in this spot, and only this spot. Create a spot at work and at home, if necessary. Create 'intentionality' to remember where you put an item down, if it's not in it's home spot.
-
Try the
RedDotMnemonic which forces you to create a mental 'photo' of the area where you place something down. There's nothing magical about this marking - the trick is forcing you to make a mental bookmark when you place something important down.
