A book published by Chris_Crawford? in 1982. Despite the ComputerGame focus, Crawford is a student of larger questions, and many of the fundamental issues apply to all games. Despite the age, which dates many of the examples and mention of technological issues, large quantities of the material focuses on the issues of game play, not the medium. The book also closes out with a call for a game design lexicon - something we are still working on 20 years later...
