I have uploaded a pdf file to the Rulesets in Progress section
containing the rules to a game I've completed called Piecepack Clear.
Piecepack Clear is a Bingo-type game for 2 or more players. Each
player requires his or her own piecepack. Unlike my other attempts
at game design (again, please bear in mind I'm not a professional at
this), I have been able to playtest this with my brother and
nephews. Everyone agrees this is a lot of fun.
I am going to go ahead and submit this to piecepack.org. Once they
post it to their site or reject it, I will remove it from the Yahoo
area. I've posted it here in case anyone wishes to check it out in
advance.
I have also been able to playtest the other game idea that I've
created called Piecepack Attack. This has already been uploaded to
the Rulesets section. This game really does look promising. Even
though formal rules haven't been written, the reference sheets and
notes contained in the pdf file are detailed enough that you should
still be able to playtest it. The reason for the large file size is
that the pdf file contains the complete set of game cards that are
cut out and used in the game. It may be possible to substitute
piecepack pyramids for Icehouse stashes, but I haven't determined
how or if this would work. You may also try playtesting the game
without the cards. This is definitely best in order to get the hang
of the game's mechanics. In fact, my brother even suggested that the
game might play well without them.
You folks are probably busy working on your own games for the
contest, so I'll leave the Piecepack Attack in the files section for
a while longer, unless anyone wishes it taken down earlier. I should
also point out that I don't have any entries in the contest, so
these games won't compete against anything you're developing.
