Actually, for most people, this would be far trickier than the
current versions... most folks have to print 2-sided by running the
paper through their printer a second time, and the registration,
margining, and leader feed would have to be pretty precise for this
to work well. Most people just have cheap inkjets, and results would
be disappointing. That is one reason why the current printable set
is built to be folded in half... because the alignment of fronts and
backs becomes much easier. (The other reason is that two sheets
glued together makes for more durable pieces than a single sheet that
is printed both sides, assuming plain 20# or 24# paper. Mounting
onto paperboard, wood, or plastic is an option, of course, for those
desiring even greater durability.)
