Yes, this is the case. You still have to pay your crew for fighting,
even if the ship you captured wasn't very rich or if the battle was so
one-sided that there wasn't much booty to salvage.

No. None of the tracked values, including booty, may fall below zero.
If you don't have any booty and don't gain any in the fight, your crew
understands why you can't pay them right now.

I have thought about this, but I haven't had time to do anything about
it. So, in the interest of furthering the open source cause, I hereby
leave the development of a multi-player version of Piece Packing
Pirates up to the piecepack community at-large. I'd love to be a part
of its development, but anyone and everyone is free to contribute.
Would anyone like to volunteer to coordinate the development efforts?
