I tried the game today after building a seasons set. We were only two

enjoyable. We each made two clues each so that the game would last a
bit more. I have to say the game does inspire the imagination. You
can really see the rivers, forests, mountains, etc... in the 6x6
board. I think with 4 players that get into the mood of the game, it
can really be a lot of fun and I look forward to playing it that way :)

Wow, Jorge, I'm glad you had fun, but PPLB is definitely not meant to
be a two-player game. If you do create a two-player variant that
really works well, let me know, and I'll add it to the Variants
section.

Well, I think the game can be played with 2, but it loses a lot of the fun. All the "uncertainty" of not knowing who found what is gone because you both know everything that happens. With more players, I guess it must be difficult to keep a straight face after finding a specially difficult box, and that must be part of the fun.

That said. The fun of making the clues and trying to solve them is there, as is the "mood".

I think for two players a good way to play would be to link 3 or 4 different clues together in a way that the location of the first box is needed to solve the next clue and so on. It would give a sense of "following a trail".

I'm glad you got into the mood of the game. (I'm smiling as I write
this.) Having a "mood" was definitely part of the design idea.

Can we see some photos of your seasons set? The basic piecepack you
made is so beautiful.

Thanks a lot :) I'll post some pictures on the wiki. I'm more happy with the design for the basic set, but this one has turned out ok.

By the way, I read your other answer (about the scoring) and your example made me see why it might not be such an issue that someone uses an impossible clue... :)
