For the JCD Color Piecepack, which has been available from Blue Panther for a while, the color side is painted on, then the JCD graphics are laser engraved directly (essentially removing the paint and a small amount of the wood below it to make a permanent imprint). Then we laser cut the shapes out (tile, disk, pawn, etc). In this way, the color goes right up to the edge of the piece on one side. The dice are not color - they are laser engraved on all 6 sides. The "backs" of the pieces (cross pattern on tile, numbers on disks, etc) are also laser engraved after the shapes are laser cut.
The other versions of the JCD piecepack on that page (oak, birch) are made in a similar manner.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Note, though, that I've changed the topic
to the colour JCD Piecepack; I think you're not talking about that set
but some newer non-JCD set. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Could you address the questions from my previous message specifically
with regard to the laser-engraved colour JCD Piecepack from this page
