Board Game

Any game that requires the use of a pre-made playing surface, known as a "board". Typically, the board is made of stiffened cardboard, though some boards are of wood, plastic, fabric, or a combination. On the board can usually be found certain zones for the placement of game pieces, such as pawns, markers, or cards. A board game with a modular board that is pieced together strategically at the beginning of or throughout play (such as Twilight_Imperium? or Carcassonne) is sometimes known as a TileLayingGame?.
