As I recall, faintly from long ago, Tim H was in 2nd or 3rd place for much of the game, but came on very strong in the last three or four eras and really stomped us. He was not Rome I'm fairly certain. I made the mistake of not placing a fort in Cyprus when I was the Greeks, and made some similar mistake like this elsewhere, reducing my ability to stay in Europe and the other region (I believe India) in later stages of the game. I came in a close second or third place and if I would have covered these bases better I might have had a shot at winning. Oh well it was a fun game, and Tim was right, it is quite a bit faster when everyone pretty much knows how to play.

The players made a mistake setting up the board. They used the setup for 3 players rather than for 4. They removed 6 camels from each color to compensate. Result: The game played OK, and faster.
