#pragma section-numbers off = Bidding Game = A Bidding Game involves (at some point during the game) players offering some form of currency in exchange for some form of commodity, which eventually goes to the highest offer. Bids can go around to each player in turn (as in ["Princes of Florence"], for instance) or all players bid at once without seeing the other bids (eg. ["Fist of Dragonstones"]), or various other twists can be in place. As I am finding myself to be supremely bad at games that involve bidding, I'm creating this page in hopes that those who are better at such games will deign to offer some pointers. --["Paul David Unwin"] Here are some games that involve bidding. *["Cosmic Encounter"]: In a sense, every Challenge is a bid (partially blind, partially open). *["Fist of Dragonstones"]: Blind bid, cash lost even if bid is lost. *["Netrunner"]: Blind bid, all cash lost. The Corp bids that its trace will be greater than or equal to the Runner's link value. *["Princes of Florence"]: Open bid, only winner loses cash. *TrickTakingGame``s: May of these involve (essentially blind) bids. ---- CategoryGameTypePage
