Lines of Action is an AbstractStrategyGame designed by Claude Soucie. It is played on an 8x8 board. The object of the game is to form a single connected group with your pieces. On your turn, you move one piece in a straight line exactly as many spaces as there are pieces (of both colours) along the line you intend to move your piece. There are dozens of web sites devoted to this game, and computer programs to play it. There are even international Lines of Action Tournaments. A LoA set can be improvised from a single Checkers set, and we intend to include the rules for LoA in the book for GamesToTheRescue, the group's philanthropic work. --["Ron Hale-Evans"] [http://www.boardgamegeek.com/viewitem.php3?gameid=3406 BoardgameGeek page for the game] [http://www.andromeda.com/people/ddyer/loa/loa.html Main LoA page on the web] [http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lines_of_Action Excellent free (as in freedom) illustrated rules and strategies, from Wikipedia] [http://www.d.kth.se/~f89-cvb/loa.html Good illustrated rules, with strategies] [http://www.linesofaction.com Linesofaction.com - Regular online tournaments, advanced strategy and player forum] ---- CategoryGamePage CategoryGamePage CategoryGamePage
