Re: [piecepack] Transparent piecepack?

The Gloom cards do look nice. But wouldn't the opaque part of the

You could make the opaque parts white on the back so that the black
lines on the back of the tile would stand out against them. I don't
think the lines on the back would be too obtrusive when seen from the
front. Anyway, they probably wouldn't be as distracting as the lines
on these playing cards, and they seem playable:

Seen from the front, the lines on the back would probably make the
value in the center look like crosshairs.

Maybe it would be possible to make a design
that would work (with smaller numbers)... Also maybe the small suit
icon on the front of the tiles should be placed in all four corners
so that you can't tell the orientation when the tile is face down...

How about something like this (4 of Suns)?

4 *
* 4

For the coins, the suit already takes most of the space, so the
transparent part would be really small...

Maybe you could shrink the suit a little bit.

The effect on the tiles
would be really cool though...

It's a nice idea :)

Thanks. What made me think of it is that sometimes when I introduce
people to the piecepack, they say, "Well, that's pretty interesting,
but I'll stick with Icehouse because it _looks cool_." There's no
reason the piecepack can't "look cool". We don't have to suffer from
mystique envy. :)
