This is an adaptation of the traditional card solitaire of the same name as taught to me by my sister Gloria.
I've been working on this for a while, but didn't enter it in the SolitaryConfinement contest as it is just a straight adaptation of a traditional card solitaire. -- Mark A. Biggar
Modern solitaire card game books often list this game under the name Accordion. If you have the space (i.e. 4 ft surface) you can alternatively first lay out all 24 tiles in a row and then try to gather them into stacks---this variant isn't actually prohibited by Mark A. Biggar's version of the rules (i.e. you don't have to make a move before drawing a tile). Some solitaire card game books list easier win conditions than a single stack of cards (e.g. five or fewer stacks of cards) since it is so difficult to get it down to one stack (<1%) although the piecepack version should be easier since there are fewer tiles then a normal deck of cards. -- TrevorLDavis
